Cornish game hen, golden carrots and broccoli

My first time cooking whole cornish game hens ended up turning out dry and tasting just like chicken. The only upside of the bird is the portion size being just about right for one person with a little bit left over. I even put an herb butter underneath the skin and thighs and baked according to the Ad Hoc recipe of 450 degrees. Though, I find it strange that the instructions made no mention of reducing the temperature. I think this was the downfall. It also said that it would take about 25-30 minutes, when it took nearly an hour and 10 minutes at 450. Perhaps it was supposed to be a convection oven…!

Anyway, I’d stick with buying chickens because they are cheaper and you get more meat. 🙂
